Two sets of amenities come with a stay here. The fourth floor of Montemar belongs to the building, and you reach it by lift. The rest belongs to Pedregal, spread across the hillside and down to the sand.

In the building

The fourth floor

An entire floor of Montemar is given over to amenities rather than residences. It sits above the town and below the upper units, and it is where most of a day here gets spent.

Worth knowing before you plan your day

The pool sits on the fourth floor of an eight floor building, so the deck begins to lose direct sun in the early afternoon as the building shades it. Mornings are the bright half of the day up there.

In Pedregal

The sports complex

Terraced into the hillside on three levels, with tennis above, pickleball below, and a shaded cafe alongside. It is elsewhere in Pedregal rather than at the building, so plan on driving to it.

In Pedregal

The beach

Pedregal has its own stretch of Pacific sand, wide and open, with rock outcrops at either end and no resort development along it. It is a beach for walking, for shore fishing, and for watching the swell come in.

A court on the sand is a rare thing

Beachside basketball is unusual anywhere on this coast. Most courts here sit behind a hotel or inland in a subdivision. This one is a full size court with two hoops, among the villas at the water edge, and it is lit for evening play.
